__ Dummy Roping - Jake

Dummy Roping (Boys & Girls age 3-6)

Event will consist of a bale of straw laid flat with a calf head attached. Each contestant must throw one loop and catch the dummy head without crossing the designated line. Each contestant that catches will move to the next round and throw another loop from twelve inches farther back from the first line. The last roper standing wins.

__ Mounted Dummy Roping - Stone

Mounted Dummy Roping (Boys & Girls age 7-8)

Event will consist of two bales of straw stacked one on top of the other with a calf head attached. Participants must tie their rope or ropes to the saddle horn with a breakaway string. The contestant rides their horse up to the bales and throws their loop without crossing the designated line. Each roper will be allowed 2 loops. If the roper intends to use 2 loops he or she must carry 2 ropes and have the 2nd rope tied on in a manner similar to breakaway. Time limit: 45 seconds.

Mutton Busting - Mae

Mutton Busting (Boys & Girls age 3-6)

Each contestant will try to ride a sheep for 5 seconds.  When the sheep is released from the chute it will run in an attempt to get the rider off it’s back. If the contestant rides for 5 seconds they will receive a score. Participants are required to wear a protective helmet and vest.

__ Calf Riding - Hayes

Calf Riding (Boys & Girls age 7-8)

Each contestant will try to ride a calf for 6 seconds.  When the calf is released from the chute it will buck, kick and run in an attempt to get the rider off it’s back. If the contestant rides for 6 seconds they will receive a score. Participants must ride with one hand and a wrap. A protective helmet and vest are required.

__ Goat Tail Untying - Raylen

Goat Tail Untying (Boys & Girls age 3-6)

The participant rides their horse down to a tethered goat, dismounts, catches the goat, pulls a ribbon off its tail and puts their hands up in the air with the ribbon. Time limit: 45 seconds.

__ Pee Wee Boys Goat Tying - Cody (1)

Pee Wee Boys Goat Tying (age 7-8)

The participant rides their horse down to a tethered goat, dismounts, catches, throws, and ties any three of its legs together. The goat must stay tied for six seconds after the contestant has backed away from the animal. If the goat becomes untied before six seconds have passed, the rider receives no score. Time limit: 60 seconds.

Pee Wee Girls Goat Tying - Atley 2

Pee Wee Girls Goat Tying (age 7-8)

The participant rides their horse down to a tethered goat, dismounts, catches, throws, and ties any three of its legs together. The goat must stay tied for six seconds after the contestant has backed away from the animal. If the goat becomes untied before six seconds have passed, the rider receives no score. Time limit: 60 seconds.

Pee Wee Barrel Racing - Lindsay

Pee Wee Barrel Racing (Boys & Girls age 3-8)

A speed event in which each contestant rides their horse in a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels, trying to have the fastest time, while not knocking over a barrel.

Pee Wee Poles - Britni

Pee Wee Pole Bending (Boys & Girls age 3-8)

A timed event in which a contestant rides their horse down to the last pole at the end of the arena. Then runs a weaving or serpentine pattern through the six poles arranged in a line, down and back and then races back to the starting line.
